How important is E-Commerce for Medical Profession.

Some of the earliest form of medicines and medical practices were the use of natural resources like the part of plants and animals. It was changed due to advancement of technology to be able to improve the concept / belief in the past. E-commerce consists of many things. “Most people think e-commerce is just about buying and selling things over the Internet” (Wareham, 2000). It used to describe the business that is conducted over the internet using any application that is depending on the internet. “The primary technological goal of e-commerce is to integrate businesses, government agencies, and contractors into a single community with the ability to communicate with one another across any computer platform” (Edwards, 1998). Currently the use of e-commerce in healthcare is very general. The most common uses are keeping electronic medical records, the transmission of information and telemedicine. Making medicine accessible online not only benefits doctors and their patients, it could also improve relationships between hospitals, clinics, suppliers and customers.

I think that E-commerce is important for medical professions because of the benefits they can get from it. It will help their work more efficiently and they can easily view the medical history of the patient and give diagnosis. The expectations of the consumer become high.
